Grant by John Staverton, Maydenhith, to Richard Hopton, clerk, Hugh Frawnce, clerk, and Thomas Coke, of Eton, of six yearly quit-rents arising from a garden and five houses lying together in Mayndenhith in Cokeham, on the west side of a house inhabited by William Andrew, which houses extend on the south side on to the King's Street leading through the middle of the town of Maydenhith and on the north on to the common field of Cokeham. The rents of the houses are respectively, 4s (garden 12d), formerly of William Mordall and afterwards of Robert Blakmore; 3s, formerly of one Awsteyn now of John Joly; 16d, now of William Cowchens; 4s, formerly of John Elyngton and afterwards of Isabel wife of [Laurence] Cornuell; 3s 4d, formerly of John Spelyng afterwards of Joan Fawkenell, by the tenant of which last house a heriot of 2s has to be paid, and the same tenant shall make a reasonable relief. These rents together with the 2s and the relief the grantor and William Weston, deceased, lately held among other tenements etc. by feoffment of Margaret, late wife of John Monketon, in her pure widowhood, who held them with her late husband by feoffment of Robert Fowler, John Staverton and Robert Love.
Rent a peppercorn at Michaelmas.
