Goldcliff and Coldrey, Monmouthshire: Indenture of lease

Indenture of lease, by the Provost and College to Christopher Whichcote, of New Windsor, esquire, Thomas Wood, of London, merchant, and Jeremy Whichcote, of the Inner Temple, esquire, of the priory and manors of Goldcliffe, Nash and Couldrey, which were leased by indenture of 20 February 1563 to William Morgan, with the exception of a rent of £101 granted in that indenture and excepting advowsons of churches. From 25 March last for 21 years. Rent £35 13s 4d and 14 quarters 6 bushels of wheat and 51 quarters 5 bushels 2 pecks of malt or their money equivalent and 30 oxen (measurements given) or £5 for those of the lesser and £6 for those of the larger scantling.
