Goldcliff and Coldrey, Monmouthshire: Indenture of lease

Indenture of lease, by the Provost and College to Christopher Whichcote and John Cresset, of New Windsor, esquires, of the priory and manors of Goldcliffe, Nash and Couldrey, with the exception of a rent of £101 granted in that indenture and excepting advowsons of churches. Rent £35 13s 4d and 14 quarters 6 bushels of wheat and 51 quarters 5 bushels 2 pecks of malt or their money equivalent and 30 oxen (measurements given) or £5 for those of the lesser and £6 for those of the larger scantling. From Michaelmas 1658 for 21 years.

(1) Octagonal, 15 x 12mm, armorial, two boars passant one above the other. Helmet, mantlings and crest.
(2) Oval, 18 x 15mm. Armorial, a cross indented. Helmet, mantlings and crest a demi lion rampant holding a beacon.
