Hanging Langford, Wiltshire: Letter concerning land boundaries
Level
Item
Date
23 September 1818
Content description
William Moody, Bathampton House, to the Rev William Roberts. He also will send a man with his map to help to ascertain the boundaries. He is much surprised to hear that Mr Seagram has received a deputation of the Manor of Hanging Langford, as he and his father have had uninterrupted possession of it for 50 years, during which time they have regularly granted deputations, without any claim being put in by the College until 1815. On what grounds does the College make its claims?
