Content description
John Shaw, Christ's Hospital, to Rev George Bethell. Encloses no. ECR 49 078. Had had an interview with Mr Driver, whose opinion was that £300 an acre was the value of the land in question, so the matter had been dropped. "Valuable as this part of the property undoubtedly is, its circumstances as regards the right of entrance from the Park Road, and the long continued liberty or rather trespass of the public over it in all directions, would render an exchange perhaps desirable; and if it were beneficial to the College in its more local interests soe sacrifice might perhaps be advisable as regards this property."
