Content description
Counterpart of lease, by the Provost and College to Henry Monke, of Iver alias Ever, co. Bucks, gentleman upon surrender of his former lease, of a messuage or tenement in Maydenhead, now or late in the occupation of Thomas Egham; also 3 messuages or tenements in Hedgley or Farnham Royall, now or late in the occupation of Humphrey Randall; and a messuage or tenement in Farnham Royall, now or late in the occupation of Anthony Randall; and a messuage or tenement in Langley Marrish, now or late in the occupation of Thomas Damsell, with 2½ acres of arable belonging; and a capital messuage or tenement in Iver, now or late in the occupation of the said Monke. With all buildings, lands, rents and other appurtenances, except all woods, underwoods, timber trees and springs. From Michaelmas last for 21 years. Rent £5, and 12 bushels of wheat and 8 quarters of malt, or their money equivalent. The lessee to collect all rents due to the College in Maydenhead, Hedgley, Farnham Royall, Langley and Iver, and account for them yearly at the College audit.

Seal, round, 22mm, red wax, on doubled tag. Armorial, a bad impression.
Witnesses: Benjamin Owtred, public notary, Charles Moncke, Thomas Randall (mark).
On the dorse there is a note of the rents to be collected by the lessee in Maydenhead, viz.
From the wardens of the Chapel there for a messuage lying at the west end of the town, now in the holding of Garvas Ormestone 3s 4d.
From Robert Smyth for a tenement called the Hely Bushe late of Lord Sandes 16d.
From Silvester Roberts and Robert Warner, sometime Andrewe Lawrence, now 2 tenements 3s.
From Christopher Smyth for a tenement late of one Arrowe Smyth 4s.
From Thomas Davis for a messuage now in the tenure of Richard Robynson, sometime of Mr Hall 5s.
Sum 16s 8d.
