Letters by and about Duncombe F. B. Buckley, an officer during the Crimean War, who was killed at Sevastopol in September 1855. The letters include a correspondence with his brother Alfred, a letter to his father dated 1851, letters by others about Duncombe's injury at the battle of Alma in 1854 and death a year later. Accompanied by five letters to Herbert Mildmay by soldiers at the Crimean War front.
