This box contains the manuscripts and final proofs for Thesiger’s photographic work ‘Visions of a Nomad’. Throughout his travels, Thesiger took thousands of photographs to document the places he had been and the people he met. This work was produced to showcase a selection of these photographs taken during his time in Africa, Arabia and Asia.
The files contain corrected drafts for the textual content of the work only. This included the introductory passages to each section and the captions for the photographs. With the exception of the final proof, the photographs are not reproduced, and the selection of images appears to have taken place before the first draft was written.
