Hardy-Sparks archive: Correspondence
Series
19th-20th century
1 folder and 1 box
A collection of correspondence, mostly autograph letters, between members of the Sparks and Hardy families. The majority of letters are between Kate Hardy (Hardy's cousin) and Nat/James Sparks. There are also letters from Mary Hardy, other members of the family and several cartes-de-visite. There are two typed letters from Florence Hardy in this collection. The letters from Thomas Hardy that were in this collection have been extracted and now form part of the Hardy archive.
As the original order of the letters is unknown, and the arrangement of the previous owner was unsatisfactory, the letters have been rearranged in files based on the people involved. The files are listed in chronological order in this series.
In terms of physical arrangement, the letters between Kate Hardy and Nat/James Sparks are in a folder and the remaining files are in individual envelopes and boxed.
