Little Tew, Oxfordshire
Series
Though Little Tew is not actually mentioned in the original endowment of Eton College, the college property there may be presumed to have been included in the lands of the alien priory of Cogges, a cell of the abbey of Fecamp, which does appear in the original patent. Being confiscated by the Crown, it was held for a time, like many of the others, by queen Joan, the consort of Henry IV, and at length passed to Eton. It seems quite safe to identify the college holding in Little Tew with that of the former priory of Cogges.
