Everdon, Northamptonshire: Letter concerning Parson's field

Richard Penwarn, Westminster, to Mr Samuel Winston at Everdon. He raised the question of the Parson's field, in controversy between Mr Winston and the College tenant, at a meeting of the Provost and Fellows. The latter do not feel able to make a decision without hearing the other side. They will decide the matter at the next court, in the spring.
Red wax seal.
There is a note at the end of the letter:
April 22 1652. The Parson's close above mentioned was affirmed by the whole Homage at a court then held at Everdon to have bin in the parson's possession for 60 yeares and upward under ye rent of 13s 4d per annum payed to the College tennant there. It was also then farther testifyed to ye same effect by two of ye most antient men in ye parish under oath in the presence of us John Backiler, bursar of Eton College, John Looker, deputye steward.
