Royal Patents: Grant of the hospital of St James, Westminster

Grant in frankalmoign, with the consent of James, lord of Say, Knight, Treasurer of England, to the Provost and College of the hospital of St James by Westminster in the diocese of London, and the perpetual wardenship of the same, as soon as the hospital shall be void by the death, cession or resignation of the King's Clerk, Thomas Kempe, chaplain of the King, now warden; even though the hospital and wardenship have been granted hitherto by the treasurers by virtue of their office. Given at Westminster by the King.
The Great Seal, green wax, on plaited blue and white silk cords and gold thread. Chipped away at sides and top. Ornamental penwork on top line. The main upright of the initial letter H is encircled with a scroll on which is written Domine salvum fac Regem Henricum sextum fundatorem nostrum
