Windsor, Berkshire: Will of T Rolffe

Will of Thomas Rolffe, of New Windsor, in the diocese of Salisbury, concerning his tenement with a garden adjacent in Windsor, to wit, that as soon as his is dead the premises are to pass to the Provost and College of the Blessed Mary of Eton, on condition that all characters evidences and muniments relating thereto be delivered to the said Provost and College by the testator's feoffees, who are also to deliver seisin and quitclaim al their right therein, and the Provost and College are to lease the premises for three years to Elizabeth Wodeham, the testator's servant, who on each 3 May during those years shall observe the obit and pay 20s for the same, and shall also maintain the premises, and after the term aforesaid the premises shall remain entirely to the Provost and College that they may pray for his soul and the souls of his friends.
Witnesses: master William at Water, master of arts, Sir Thomas Hether, perpetual vicar of the parish church of St John the Baptist of New Windsor, Robert Rede and Lewis Palmer, clerks (litteratis) of the dioceses of Bath and Wells, Salisbury and Lichfield. Given in an upper chamber of the house of the testator 2 May 1485, in the first year of the pontificate of Innocent VIII.
