Indenture between Stephyn Coope, esquier, serjaunt of the King's Pultrie, son and heir of William Coope, esquier, deceased, on one part and Thomas Smyth alias Thomas Butler, of Eton, co. Buks, on the other, whereby the said Stephyn sells for £34 10s a messuage with gardens adjacentin the town of New Wyndesor, co. Berks, in the lordship and parish of Clewer near Wyndesor bridge between the messuage of Thomas Benett on the south and the ground of the Provost and College of Eton on the north, abutting at one end on the King's high way, leading from the castle of Eton, on the east, and the garden of Thomas Benett on the west; which late were Richard Ward's. And the said Stephyn promises before next Pentecost to make the said Thomas sufficient estate in law of the premises, and to deliver all deeds touching the property before Easter. Given 7 November 13 Henry VIII.
