Indenture of lease for 21 years by the Provost of the Royal College of the Blessed Mary of Eton near Windsor, co. Bucks, and the College, to Anne Buste, of Oxford, widow, of 3 acres of arable land in Newe Windesor in the field called the Werth, abutting at one end on the land sometime of William Gallis and Margaret Holden and now of Thomas Cotham and Henry Rutt on the east, and at the other one the lands of John Broune on the west, lying at one side upon the King's Pittes on the south, and at the other upon the orchard sometime of Andrew Wagges and now of Roger Stackhowse on the north; to hold from Michaelmas last. Yearly rent 2s payable at Michaelmas, and ½ bushel of wheat and 1 bushel of malt "good sweete cleane and marchauntable" as shal be approved by the Bursars, Bakers and Brewer of the College, or, in default of the wheat and malt, ready money for the same at the rate of the best wheat and malt in Windsor market. If the said rents are 28 days in arrears, the lease shall be void. The lessee must during the first year stake out the bounds of the property, and may not grant it away without the licence of the lessors, except to her children by her last will and testament.
