Memorandum by Christofer Davys, gentleman, Mayor of the Royal Borough of New Windsor, co Berks, that the following appears in the records of the Borough.
Survey made at New Windsor in the presence of sir Robert Dudley, Knight of the Garter, Privy Councillo, Master of the horse, Constable of the Honor and Castle of WIndsor, and Keeper of the whole forest, and John Tomworth, esquire, a gentleman of the Privy chamber, by their deputies, Roger Amyce, esquire, Surveyor of all the queen's honors, castles, lordships, manors and other hereditaments and possessions, and Richard Wodward, gentleman, clerk of the castle and honor aforesaid, in November 5 Elizabeth:
Richard Galys holds a free tenement with a garden adjacent, and 21 acres of arable land, sometime of Robert Hussey, the former lying next le Worth, between the King's way leading towards le Spittle on the west and the 21 acres lying separately in le Worth, of which 5 are together between the land of the College of Eaton on the north, and the land late of John Conrick on the south and 16 are between the land of the College on the south and the land late of the Fraternity of the Holy Trinity and of the College on the north.The yearly rent ... 13s 5d, with 3s 5d from Andrew Aley for 7 acres, parcels of the foregoing.
Richard Ward, esquire, holds 5 acres of arable land, of which 2½ acres lie together in le Worth between the land late of John Hether on the south, and 1 acre between the queen's land and the land of the College of Eaton on the north and 1½ acres lie together between the land of Agnes Hussey on the north and the land of John Lychfeild on the south, late of John Conrick and Redman. The yearly rent ... 17¼ ultra 19¾ for lands purchased by the King.
