Henry VI ordered that sealed copies of the statutes of Eton and King's should be deposited in a chest in the treasury of each college, with a further copy of each volume in their libraries for the use of the Fellows.
King's revised its statutes somewhat earlier than Eton, in 1861. A further revision was made in 1882 and as at Eton there were subsequent revisions and amendments, including a new set in 1927.
