These papers are very miscellaneous and do not reflect any deliberate preservation strategy. They may include mark books, notes, committee papers, records of speeches or papers delivered, scrapbooks, circulars, correspondence with the Head Master or more personal papers. They also include papers relating to masters' clubs and societies, of which the most notable and important is the Ascham Society.

Typed catalogues are available in the archivists' office for all series listed here, and also for some masters who do not yet have an entry. Top level entries are gradually being added to the database but searchers after a particular individual should always enquire.
