Original typescript with corrections in Young’s hand.
Also included are miscellaneous corrected typescripts, and different versions of most of the chapters, containing some manuscript additions. A number of the chapters have been marked to indicate the first or second draft.
Included in the box is a chapter by chapter record of when each draft was written and the word count.
As the chapters were completed they were sent to Gritta Weil to correct and compile and it was Weil who has organised them into their present arrangement. The chapters are not in chronological order, but reflect the order in which Weil received, and worked, on the typescripts.
The work was first published in 1996.
