The manor of Blakenham, co. Suffolk, appears in the original endowment of the college, and the grant was confirmed by Edward IV in 1467. It had previously been part of the lands of the Abbey of Bec. From the middle of the sixteenth century onwards there was continual uncertainty and dispute over the exact bounds of the college estate at Great Blakenham.
