In 1441 Henry VI gave his assent to the appropriation of the conventual priory of Goldcliff, a cell of the abbey of Bec, by the abbey of Tewkesbury. On 2 April 1451 he granted it to Eton College. Edward IV gave it back to Tewkesbury in 1462, but in 1467 restored it to Eton.
