In 1988 on his retirement as Vice-Provost, he presented to each house a copy of the Authorised version of the Bible, and the Book of Common Prayer. These papers are an acknowledgement of a letter of thanks from the Captain of Colin Cook's house and correspondence between Provost Charteris and Colin Cook
