Charlotte Lucia Goodford (1848-1924) was the daughter of Charles Old Goodford, Head Master of Eton 1853-1862 and Provost of Eton 1862-1884, and Katharine Lucia Law. On 16 January 1873, Charlotte married Hastings Burton Middleton. These diaries describe life at Eton and at her father's living of Chilton Cantelo, Somerset.

Provenance
The diaries were given to the College in 1981 by T.C.M. Winwood. They were removed by Vice-Provost David Macindoe for research on his projected history of the College and were returned by his daughter Sophia Crawford in 1996.
